1967 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III Phase 2 Concours Restoration Numbers Matching
CMC is proud to offer this 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III Phase 2 Convertible, a beautifully restored example of one of the most iconic British roadsters. Finished in black with a red Ambla interior and a black soft top, this car represents the final year of the "Big Healey" and combines striking aesthetics with superb performance.
The numbers matching 2,912cc inline-six engine, paired with the four-speed manual gearbox and overdrive, delivers 148bhp at 5,350rpm, offering spirited acceleration and a thrilling driving experience. The entire car underwent a comprehensive, nut-and-bolt restoration by Austin-Healey expert Kurt Tanner, including a complete rebuild of the engine and drivetrain. Every component, from the suspension to the gauges, was carefully restored to ensure the car performs as originally intended.
The exterior was stripped, primed, and painted with DuPont basecoat/clearcoat to concours-level standards. Inside, the red Ambla vinyl interior was restored to the highest quality, featuring a walnut veneer dashboard, adjustable steering wheel, heater, and comfortable bucket seats. The car also comes with a black Everflex soft top and boot, enhancing its appearance.
The suspension and braking systems have all been rebuilt to ensure smooth handling and reliable stopping power. The car rides on Dayton 60-spoke stainless/chrome wire wheels, mounted with Michelin radial steel-belted tires and octagonal knock-offs. The restoration also included a new wiring harness, ensuring all electrical systems are fully operational.
This Healey was originally dispatched to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, on April 11, 1967, and was originally finished in British Racing Green with a black interior. During the restoration, Mr. Tanner opted to refinish the car in a more iconic livery of a classic Healey, resulting in this exceptional black exterior over the red Ambla Interior. It is accompanied by a BMIHT Heritage Certificate, confirming its original build details and matching numbers.
Having earned accolades at multiple concours events, including First in Class at the 2004 Greater Valley Concours d'Elegance, this Austin-Healey stands as a testament to the craftsmanship and timeless appeal of the Big Healey. The car is accompanied by a reprinted owner's manual and a photo album documenting its meticulous restoration.
This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III Phase 2 Convertible offers exceptional performance, stunning aesthetics, and a complete restoration that makes it perfect for both collectors and enthusiasts. With its matching numbers and comprehensive documentation, it's an outstanding example of the final year of the legendary Austin-Healey 3000.
